INSTALLATION OF A EXTRACTION SYSTEM

We have been working with Robert Stuarts for 16years, in 1990 we installed a very large 30,000 CFM Plant to exract hazardous chemical fumes, in 1998 we were asked to look at a second system to cover their expansion program. With site visits and monitoring we suggested changing some of their factory layout to accommodate the new system, there an extra 26 plating systems that needed to be covered.

SOLUTION

We designed and built a chemical eliminator plant along with extraction system with a capacity of 34,000CFM to cover all 26 units with a 20% extra capacity for a later project.

Heavy steelwork was constructed on the roof area of the main factory to carry the new extract plant, part of the roof apex was removed to allow a high level 900dia header to be installed running the length of the factory, the main part of this whole system was PVC, GRP coated and polypropylene. All 26 ground units had either single or double lip extraction then run vertical to roof height then horizontal to main header, the system was commissioned and balanced for Air Flow Rates etc and the plant ran extremely efficiently.

On completion we were given the order to carry out the project to use the spare 20% available on the system on a new plating process.

The project took from 1st site visit to fully operational stages within 20weeks.
